Halloween is Almost Here!

It’s only a little over a week until Halloween. On Halloween night, I like to light the candle in the pumpkin, turn off the lights, and put on my favorite Halloween movies.

There are tons of great ones out there to choose from, but here are 5 of my favorites:

1. The Crow (1994)—One of my favorite movies of all time and probably the one I’ve watched the most. It’s so dark, yet so hopeful. Brandon Lee’s performance is incredible. Great cast and story, plenty of action, and one fantastic soundtrack.

2. Underworld (2003)—Vampires and lycans are at war. Selene, a vampire warrior, makes the mistake of falling in love with Michael, a human who is sought by werewolves for unknown reasons.

3. Dracula Untold (2014)—A fresh look at the traditional Dracula story. I love this movie. I mean, what’s not to love about Luke Evans as Vlad Tepes, the prince who must become a monster feared by his own people in order to obtain the power needed to protect them.

4. Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992)—As promised, this movie closely follows Stoker’s version of Dracula. Great film. Gary Oldman plays a scary and seductive Dracula.

5. Lost Boys (1987)—It’s hard to believe this movie is 30 years old, but it holds up. It’s one of my favorite vampire movies of all time. And the soundtrack is amazing.

I know this is a top 5 list, but I have to mention Sleepy Hollow with Johnny Depp (1999) and the Disney animated version (1949). I love them both. The animated story is beautifully crafted. And while the Depp version of the story goes off the rails near the end, I still enjoy it. And, of course, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” is a show I have to watch every year.

However you chose to celebrate, I hope you have a Spooktacular holiday! And if you’re looking for a sexy vampire book to read, you might want to check out Burning Ash, the latest release in my Forgotten Brotherhood series.

Happy Halloween!

Burning Ash

Forgotten Brotherhood, Book 3

No one is more surprised than Asher, one of the oldest vampires on Earth, that he's attracted to vamp hunter Jo Radcliffe. She's smart, a talented slayer, and she's gorgeous. Something about her pulls at him, like no one ever has before. For a man, whose name strikes fear in everyone––this is something new and intriguing. And quite possibly deadly, if she discovers his secret.

Jo has two things in common with the handsome Asher––they are both slayers and someone is messing with them in a very-much-trying-to-kill-them way. She's not so happy about joining forces with a dude she doesn't know. But he's sexy as hell and really good at his job as one of the Forgotten Brotherhood, whose business it is to execute misbehaving paranormals.

She knows she's bait in a larger plot to harm Asher and the Brotherhood. And there is nothing he won't do, no line he won't cross, to keep her safe––which may be the weakness that destroys them both.

TEASER:

He sauntered out of the dark and fully into the candlelight. The flames flickered over his face, exposing a strong jaw, straight nose, and high forehead. His blond hair was pulled back in a short tail at his nape. His skin was olive-toned or tanned, hard to say. Piercing brown eyes stared at her.

Good looking was much to tame. Handsome didn’t fit either. There was something dangerous and predatory lurking beneath the surface. Primal. Compelling. Yeah, that was it.

It was time for her to leave.

What's New?

Good Morning everyone! I hope you're having a great week, Michele and I are. In the last few weeks things have gone through a major change around here for us. We have decided to concentrate on one project. (I had a feeling at some point in my career this would happen.)

From here on out for a bit, we will be working within our Window Rock World. What does that mean for you? Well, first up is the re-release of Kalkin - Apache County Shifters in June. Also in June the release of Midnight, which you can pre-order here! Midnight is the start of our Psychic Retrieval Agency! It also part of the Bad Alpha Dads series as well. You can find out more about the books here and here!

In September, Caden will be released, which means a couple of books have been pushed back. I am still shooting for an August release for my TSU - After Dark series. Due to Kindle World closing everything has been a little up in the world. Also, due to all of the shifting around Utah (Silence Isn't Golden) and Terri (One Night with a Wolf will be delayed. But, Michele and I plan to start on Royce (Entrapped) and a short Christmas tale for Window Rock to compensate for these lapses.

I can't even begin to tell you how much we have planned. I know I put out a ton of covers and trust me all the books are still coming. I swear it, but for now we kind of have to slowly reintroduce books and settle into our new normal.

Until next time!

It's Victoria Day in Canada

Top Five Things to Do This Holiday Weekend

This is Victoria Day in Canada, or as we call it in my neck of the woods, the May Two-Four weekend. It’s a statutory Federal holiday and the unofficial kickoff to the summer season. The holiday has been observed in Canada since at least 1845, originally falling on Victoria's actual birthday (24 May 1819). Now it’s celebrated on the last Monday preceding May 25.

We call it the May Two-Four weekend to refer both to Queen Victoria’s birthday, but a two-four is also how we refer to a twenty-four pack of beer, always a popular drink on the holiday weekend.

So how do we celebrate:

1. A lot of folks go camping or to their cabins. I’ve seen snow on the holiday weekend and I also went swimming one year. Yeah, the weather is unpredictable around here.

2. Drinking. It has to be said, a lot of people will gather at parties and enjoy a few cold and alcoholic beverages.

3. Barbeque. You have to fire up the barbeque and grill some steaks or burgers or hotdogs…something.

4. Campfire. It’s always a nice weekend to have a campfire on the beach. I haven’t done this in years, but did a lot of it during my teenage years.

5. Relax. It is a holiday after all, a three-day weekend to relax with family and friends, maybe curl up and read a good book.

While Wolf of her Own isn’t due out until May 28th, you can always pre-order, or maybe check out the others in the series, if you haven’t already done so.

Have a safe and wonderful holiday.

Wolf of her Own

Salvation Pack, Book 9

Mikhail Matheson may be an outsider in Salvation, but he stays with the pack to be close to his sister. It has nothing to with the fact that Elise—the most fascinating woman he’s ever laid eyes on—is part of the pack. Mikhail has wanted Elise for years, but being with her could cost him his life. Soon he’ll have to decide if he’s going to leave the pack or risk it all to pursue a place at her side.

After escaping her abusive mate, Elise LaForge has made a home in Salvation with her sons. She never expected to have her emotions stirred up by the always serious and seriously handsome Mikhail. But can she finally put her past behind her and dare to move on?

When danger creeps into the pack, both she and Mikhail have to be willing to sacrifice everything to have a chance at love.

BIA is out now! Here's an update on what's coming soon!

Good morning everyone!

Before I get started, I would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter or Passover, or Ostara.

Michele and I have have been working hard to bring you Caden, Kalkin's twin and idiot brother. I worried while we were finishing up Kalkin, working on edits and such, we wouldn't be able to properly fix them.

Caden has issues. Danielle has issues. How do we deal with both of their brokeness individually and together. Somehow, in Seventy thousand words we have, and we're heading into the home stretch. We've added a couple of new characters to the series which will definitely bring some new elements to the series and we're slowly meshing the Rafertys and the Dryers.

Caden will be released on July 10, 2018. Stay tuned for details as his release gets closer. :)

But, that's not all I am here to talk about...

Michele and I have expanded our shifter world. As you know, we did things backwards. When we first started with Kalkin, we jumped to the kids who in my mind were easier to write about. They were, and they also gave us the encouragement we needed to finish Kalkin. They also helped spin off some awesome new books mini-series within our shifter world. Here is a sneak peek at some new covers and a few have some clickable link. Just hover over the caption and it will send you to where you can pre-order or buy the book!

Until next month, happy reading!

Wednesday Antics ~ Bearing It All is Coming Soon!

Good Wednesday morning, Divas and Divos! Michele and I are so freaking busy, I can't even explain it properly. We're in the midst of writing five books right now, with Caden being by far the largest we have written. (He should come in somewhere around 110k)

However, we do have a new release coming soon! March 15th to be exact! We're so proud of our TSU (Turnskin University) series. We're on to book 3, with hopefully Silence isn't Golden book 4 and One Night with A Wolf book 5 out sometime this fall.

Until then, you can catch up with Unrequited Mate here and Sorority Row here!

Blurb:

Emma Monte has three really big secrets. One, she’s the guardian of her little sister Cassidy. Two, she loves everything 80’s inspired and three, she’s throwing the biggest wedding she can for her friends—okay, so maybe the second isn’t really a secret. When she’s invited to spend spring break with Hayden and her family in Window Rock, Arizona, all of her secrets will be revealed.

Bodhi Raferty has been biding his time. He knows the little bear is his mate, but he’s willing to wait—if it means spending more time with her. When the opportunity arises to go home, he ready to take that final step and claim Emma for his own. However, his mate is hiding something huge. The only question is, can he help her pull it off?

Bodhi and Emma aren’t the only ones in for a surprise. As the week’s events unfold, there is a pair of Rafertys ready to be introduced, and they have the ability to upstage them all.

Excerpt:

Emma stepped out of the truck, bag in hand, and took in her surroundings. From the porch, a man, who looked suspiciously like Bodhi called out, announcing their arrival. A mass of people, and she didn't use the term lightly, exited the house. Emma took a step back and ran into Bodhi, who grunted.

“Easy, pinky. Nothing to be afraid of. They’re family.” He wrapped his arm around “her middle.

She sucked in a breath. Her heart hammered. He. Was. Touching. Her. The warmth and security he offered her, soothed some of her nerves, but also made her anxious in another way. “Thanks.”

He leaned down. “You’re welcome.” His lips brushed the shell of her ear, and she thought she’d died and gone to heaven.

As the adults exited the house, she noticed one thing straight away. They were like Bell's co-ed house. All of them were different, yet they fit together. Misfits. Three people stepped forward. A curvy woman, rounded by her pregnant belly, along with a man who looked just like Bodhi, and another man with white-blond hair and light-green eyes.

Bodhi urged her forward. “Mom. Dads. This is Emma.”

The man who looked like Bodhi stepped forward. The minute he smiled, his whole appearance changed. His harsh features softened. “You did good, son.” The man stopped in front of her. “I’m Jace. My mates are Loraine and Blake.” He held his hand out to her.

Emma rubbed her hand on her jean-shorts worried it might be sweaty. When she placed her palm in Jace’s he embraced her. The tight hug was filled with love and welcoming. Tears sprung to her eyes. She hadn’t been hugged like that since her mom and dad. “Hi,” she murmured.

“Don’t hog her all to yourself,” the woman said, placing her hand on her belly.

“Precious,” Jace growled, the sound vibrated through Emma.

“Yeah, don’t be an asshole,” Blake stated. “We want our turn, too.” He winked at Emma “when she glanced at him.

Jace released her and she was enveloped by a very pregnant, very happy woman. “It’s so good to have you here. Bodhi has told us all about you.”

Had he? Holy guacamole. “It’s nice to meet you, too. Thank you for allowing us to stay with you.”

The woman laughed, and it filled Emma’s soul with happiness. “Don’t thank us, yet.”

Blake was next. He held her hands, then spun her around. She giggled. Her cheeks heated when he gave a curt nod. “Yep, my son did well. Very good.”

“Mom!” Hayden pushed through everyone standing around and gathered Loraine in her arms. “Oh my God. Look at you!” She placed her hand on the woman’s belly. “I can’t believe we’re here. I can’t believe we’ll have a baby soon.”

“Didn’t Blake tell you?” Jace hugged her.

Hayden shook her head no.

“Babies, squirt,” Jace said.

“Babies?” Hayden squealed as she bounced in place. “Do you know the sex?”

Jace shook his head. “We want it to be a surprise.”

On the porch stood a large man. He had a protective arm wrapped around a woman who reminded her of, well, herself. He held onto her like Bodhi had done to her, and though she didn’t want to read into it, she hoped it meant what she thought it did.

“Whoa . . . their family is huge,” Cassidy said, coming up next to her. “Have you ever?”

Emma shook her head. “Never.”

“Do you think they’ll eat us?”

She laughed and pulled her sister to her side. “No way. Do you want to meet everyone?”

I Love A Grumpy Alpha Male With A Soft Touch by Clare Dargin #RomanceNovel #Menage #MFM

There's nothing better than a gnarly, surly alpha male in a romance novel.  Mind you not a mean, bullying jerk but the kind of guy that is a barrel of inconsistencies.  He's a loner yet, he's surrounded by people who are completely loyal.  He keeps to himself yet he has a best friend he can't live without.  He's cantankerous and misunderstood but his sweetheart, his soul mate, gets him completely.  And the best part is that he gets his sweetheart totally too.  And he's protective and totally territorial when it comes to him or her.

This is probably why I like writing and reading about a screwed up alpha male with a heart of gold. He's so much more fun. There's something about knowing there is hope even for the most messed up person in the world to find happiness and love.  It gives me the kind optimism that no pep talk in the world can do, it inspires me to believe that in the darkest of situations, loves light can shine through.

For instance, in my book Merry Chris Mas- Chris Poole and Chris Spinell have been struggling with PTSD since returning from the war in Afghanistan.  However, when they meet Jilly Reimers, they no longer see fate as an ominous dark cloud predicting a lifetime of loneliness.  In Jilly they see the promise of love and a bright future, full of happiness, passion and sensuality.  The only thing they have to do, along with her, is get past the baggage and fears they brought with them.

I'd categorized Chris Poole in the loner category.  He has a bunch of loyal friends who care for him but  he has a hard time connecting with them.  He can't seem to stop being boss long enough be a good friend.  He's done it before, he's just so screwed up now, he's lost his way.

Chris Spinell is different.  He's a loner who is slightly moody and cantankerous but with an amazing heart.  He's lighthearted when he's around the right people but because of his PTSD, he is riddled with anxiety and night terrors that has shifted his view on relationships.

Nevertheless, they all have hope that this time, Christmas will be different.  That's why they signed up for The Love Play Matchmaking Service.  The agency's motto is 'Whether for love or play we'll find the perfect match for you.'

Jilly, Chris and Chris hope that this will apply to them.  And for the first time in their adult lives they will finally be able to have a 'Merry Chris Mas.'

Blurb

[Menage Amour: Erotic Menage a Trois Romance, M/F/M, HEA]

Jilly Reimers wants love but can't find it. Chris Spinell is a veteran of the war in Afghanistan who suffers from PTSD and a haunting feeling that something is missing in his life. Chris Poole is also an Afghanistan war veteran is ready to break out of his shell but is unsure how. With Christmas just around the corner, they decide not to spend it alone.

Believing The Love Play Matchmaking Service to be just what they need for a night of fun and passion, they sign up. But when the guys show up and see that they've been set up on a menage, the only one happy about it is Jilly. Their consultant, called an Eros, assures Jilly that the service has a perfect track record but she's certain they'll be the first ones to get their money back.

Will they have a very merry Christmas? Or will the three spend yet another one alone?

** A Siren Erotic Romance

STORY EXCERPT

Jilly idly twirled a lock of her hair as she gazed at the fire. The meal was good, a bit awkward, but all right. Now with Chris S. in the shower, she and Chris P., who’d freshened up after her, sat beside her. She hoped she’d get a chance to know him a little better, now that they were alone.

Unlike Chris S., Chris P. was quiet, more reserved. His warm smile could melt ice. They’d spoken a bit about his life in Australia and how he met the other Chris when they were on Diego Garcia, a tiny atoll in the Pacific. It was there he garnered a better perspective on life, friendships and love. She reasoned that war tended to do that to a person.

She looked at him again, admiring what she saw. He was gorgeous. If only she were a femme fatale like her friends. She pictured grabbing him by the scruff of his collar and planting a long seductive kiss on his pouty lips. Anything to ease the tension between her legs and the moisture dripping from her swollen pussy.

Golden and sun-kissed like a surfer, he had a look impossible to have around this time of year in Michigan, unless he spent countless hours in a tanning booth. But at the same time he didn’t look like the type who’d go to one. He seemed too rugged. She glanced at his short, flaxen hair, which he wore pulled back in a stubby tail. It accentuated his keen facial features. His physique, like that of a gladiator, made her want to whimper. Built like a brick wall without being too thick, he was three words—supple, etched, steel. And his Australian accent added to his raw sexiness.

Whereas Chris S. was the perfect picture type of the all-American, boy-next-door type, with light brown hair and sandy-colored tips and eyes so blue they looked like the color of tropical water. He reminded her of the high school captain of the football team who’d gone into the military and become a man, except he had a sensitive edge that permeated his being. While Chris P., who looked like he could take on a few guys at once, was more lighthearted and outgoing.

Either way, she knew she hit the jackpot because both guys were like something out of a magazine called Hot Guys “R” Us. They were a perfect ten. It was best Christmas gift anyone could have ever given her. She hoped a Chris Sandwich was definitely on the menu for the night. But how to get past the talking stage, she had no clue. She wondered if all of her Love Play’s match ups started like this.

Wearing some leggings and a cami, and he a T-shirt and shorts, she suddenly felt overdressed. The art of seduction was not something they taught in any of the schools she’d attended, and she sure as hell never picked up any pointers from her so-called “friends.” And her exes never gave her any encouragement in that department either.

This date should have come with instructions. I think I’m in trouble.

She let out a long sigh.

“Did you say something?” Chris P. asked, stirring from his long silence.

“I was just thinking how beautiful this place is,” she lied. What? How lame is that?

“It is. I’ve never been to a place quite like this.”

“Love Play has quite a reputation.”

“You’ve used it before?” He perked up, facing her.

Heat burned her cheeks. “No. It’s what I heard from some of their clients.”

“So have you been married?” he asked.

“No.”

“Neither have I. Never found anyone to get serious with,” he said, shrugging. “I don’t know. Maybe cupid’s arrow doesn’t work on me.”

“For me they’re defective. Or maybe his aim is bad,” she said, trying to suppress the memory of her ex-boyfriend.

“What do you mean?”

“My relationships, they never work out.” She shrugged her shoulders. “For whatever reason, they seem to choose my friends over me. Or it ends up that way once we get together.”

He shook his head. “Nah. They were bad blokes from the start. Believe me. I know. I’ve been around those types my entire life. The randier they are, the worse they will be. If a man wants you, he’ll stay.” His tone was soft, almost vulnerable.

“Maybe.”

“So tell me,” he said, turning to face her, “you ordered this hook up?”

Again, her face flushed. She imagined it turning its characteristic red when the blood rushed to her cheeks.

“Yes. But according to the guidelines, you would have either had to be open to it or requested it too. Right?”

He chuckled. “I see he also got the smart I asked for. Yes, I am open to a ménage.” His expression became serious. “Do you think me odd?”

“No. I’m glad we share that desire.”

ADULT EXCERPT

Chris S. slipped her undies over her round hips. They slid down her baby-like skin, exposing her shaved mound. More blood flowed to his dick, making whimper.

“God,” he said, fighting tears.

Through gritted his teeth and clenched his eyes, he forced himself to maintain control. It was getting to be damn near impossible. Everything about her was fucking outstanding. Lips, breasts, skin and pussy. He was ready to fill her pussy with his thick, hard dick.

He slid his finger into the folds of her wet interior. The thin crease surrounded by supple labia oozed moisture from her tight and tiny hole. He slid a finger inside her hole, and her taut muscles quivered at his touch.

“You want it?” he asked.

She moaned “yes” before being silenced by the other Chris’s mouth. He inched her legs apart. Moving in just right, he tasted her. Explosions went off in his brain. She was pure, simple, clean and honeyed. He wanted to mark her as his own. Delving his tongue in and out of her tight hole, he held her still, allowing her juices to saturate his mouth.

Lifting her legs, he opened her wider, curling her upward, burying his face in her mound. His breaths increased as his heart rate grew frantic. His hard dick, standing at full scale attention, threatened to bust a nut if he didn’t stop.

Pulling away, he set her down gently. “Got to go get a condom.”

The other Chris looked up, his eyes equally as dazed as he felt.

She swallowed, seeming breathless. “My bag, by the wall.”

The time for being cool had passed. Quicker than he’d wanted and less suave, he dashed toward it, finally seeing the stash. Grabbing the entire lot, along with a bottle of lubricating gel, he opened the box and pulled out two, handing one to Chris and keeping the other for himself. Setting it aside, he removed his shorts, exposing his aching dick to the room’s cool air. He grimaced as he slid the latex over his shaft. It hurt with a pain that would only be relieved by what Jilly had to offer. He squeezed the gel, which had the scent of strawberries, onto his palm. He fisted his hand and soaked his condom-wrapped rod with the smooth, thick liquid. The mere pressure of his hand gave him some relief, albeit short.

“Me first,” he said, climbing onto the bed.

Calming himself, he lay down beside her and turned her on her side. Wrapping his arms around her, he pulled her close. He spread her legs apart as she tilted her pelvis back. She melded her body to his. There was so much of her he wanted, not only her body, but her soul, mind, and yes, even her heart.

He took a hand and placed himself at her entrance. Slowly he pushed inside. He grunted and made himself hold back, lest he spill at that moment.

She was so tight. No doubt about it. This was going to be a short run. Inch by inch, he slid inside of her, stopping at the root. His balls drew in tight. He shifted her close and moved in and out slowly. Each movement became stronger as his control slipped. He needed the release, the kind that would give his aching balls sweet relief. Back and forth his hips moved inside her. She wriggled and moaned in response. Their mouths met briefly, tongues swirling, causing his stomach and heart to flutter. He increased his thrusts. Finding his target, she keened her delight.

“Yes,” she moaned. “Don’t stop.”

She pushed her ass toward him.

“Baby, I’m going to come.”

“Come, honey. Come.”

He grunted, harder and harder. Sliding his hand down to her hard clit, he rubbed it as his panting increased. Pressure built up behind his eyes, his mind went blank as everything in the world seemed to fall away. He couldn’t stop. Harder and harder he pushed, holding her firm and tight.

With light speed, he cried out, “God!” His hips bucked upward while cum poured out of him.

Slightly dizzy, he held onto her before letting her go. “Are you all right?”

Her kiss eased the butterflies threatening to kill the moment. Sliding out of her, he sighed, relieved. He gazed into her eyes. Instantly he felt the completed connection he’d sensed along. She was the one. And he saw that she felt it too.

* * * *

Jilly recovered her breath as Chris P. gathered her up into his arms. His musky scent was so spicy and inviting. She buried her face in the crook between his shoulder and neck. She was ready.

“On your back,” he said, holding her.

She nodded.

“Tell me if I’m hurting you,” he said, whispering in her ear.

From her tall Adonis, she was ready to receive all he gave her. Trust welled up within her heart. She knew he wouldn’t hurt her.

Placing her on back like she weighed nothing but a feather, he positioned himself on top of her. A lock of his blond hair obscured his face. She opened her legs. She felt his solid, round tip prod her hole. Panting, he pushed inside of her, his raw strength causing her pussy to clench. Each muscle spasmed to accommodate his thick and meaty cock. She cried out along with him. He braced himself.
