Wednesday Antics ~ Bearing It All is Coming Soon!

Good Wednesday morning, Divas and Divos! Michele and I are so freaking busy, I can't even explain it properly. We're in the midst of writing five books right now, with Caden being by far the largest we have written. (He should come in somewhere around 110k)

However, we do have a new release coming soon! March 15th to be exact! We're so proud of our TSU (Turnskin University) series. We're on to book 3, with hopefully Silence isn't Golden book 4 and One Night with A Wolf book 5 out sometime this fall.

Until then, you can catch up with Unrequited Mate here and Sorority Row here!

Blurb:

Emma Monte has three really big secrets. One, she’s the guardian of her little sister Cassidy. Two, she loves everything 80’s inspired and three, she’s throwing the biggest wedding she can for her friends—okay, so maybe the second isn’t really a secret. When she’s invited to spend spring break with Hayden and her family in Window Rock, Arizona, all of her secrets will be revealed.

Bodhi Raferty has been biding his time. He knows the little bear is his mate, but he’s willing to wait—if it means spending more time with her. When the opportunity arises to go home, he ready to take that final step and claim Emma for his own. However, his mate is hiding something huge. The only question is, can he help her pull it off?

Bodhi and Emma aren’t the only ones in for a surprise. As the week’s events unfold, there is a pair of Rafertys ready to be introduced, and they have the ability to upstage them all.

Excerpt:

Emma stepped out of the truck, bag in hand, and took in her surroundings. From the porch, a man, who looked suspiciously like Bodhi called out, announcing their arrival. A mass of people, and she didn't use the term lightly, exited the house. Emma took a step back and ran into Bodhi, who grunted.

“Easy, pinky. Nothing to be afraid of. They’re family.” He wrapped his arm around “her middle.

She sucked in a breath. Her heart hammered. He. Was. Touching. Her. The warmth and security he offered her, soothed some of her nerves, but also made her anxious in another way. “Thanks.”

He leaned down. “You’re welcome.” His lips brushed the shell of her ear, and she thought she’d died and gone to heaven.

As the adults exited the house, she noticed one thing straight away. They were like Bell's co-ed house. All of them were different, yet they fit together. Misfits. Three people stepped forward. A curvy woman, rounded by her pregnant belly, along with a man who looked just like Bodhi, and another man with white-blond hair and light-green eyes.

Bodhi urged her forward. “Mom. Dads. This is Emma.”

The man who looked like Bodhi stepped forward. The minute he smiled, his whole appearance changed. His harsh features softened. “You did good, son.” The man stopped in front of her. “I’m Jace. My mates are Loraine and Blake.” He held his hand out to her.

Emma rubbed her hand on her jean-shorts worried it might be sweaty. When she placed her palm in Jace’s he embraced her. The tight hug was filled with love and welcoming. Tears sprung to her eyes. She hadn’t been hugged like that since her mom and dad. “Hi,” she murmured.

“Don’t hog her all to yourself,” the woman said, placing her hand on her belly.

“Precious,” Jace growled, the sound vibrated through Emma.

“Yeah, don’t be an asshole,” Blake stated. “We want our turn, too.” He winked at Emma “when she glanced at him.

Jace released her and she was enveloped by a very pregnant, very happy woman. “It’s so good to have you here. Bodhi has told us all about you.”

Had he? Holy guacamole. “It’s nice to meet you, too. Thank you for allowing us to stay with you.”

The woman laughed, and it filled Emma’s soul with happiness. “Don’t thank us, yet.”

Blake was next. He held her hands, then spun her around. She giggled. Her cheeks heated when he gave a curt nod. “Yep, my son did well. Very good.”

“Mom!” Hayden pushed through everyone standing around and gathered Loraine in her arms. “Oh my God. Look at you!” She placed her hand on the woman’s belly. “I can’t believe we’re here. I can’t believe we’ll have a baby soon.”

“Didn’t Blake tell you?” Jace hugged her.

Hayden shook her head no.

“Babies, squirt,” Jace said.

“Babies?” Hayden squealed as she bounced in place. “Do you know the sex?”

Jace shook his head. “We want it to be a surprise.”

On the porch stood a large man. He had a protective arm wrapped around a woman who reminded her of, well, herself. He held onto her like Bodhi had done to her, and though she didn’t want to read into it, she hoped it meant what she thought it did.

“Whoa . . . their family is huge,” Cassidy said, coming up next to her. “Have you ever?”

Emma shook her head. “Never.”

“Do you think they’ll eat us?”

She laughed and pulled her sister to her side. “No way. Do you want to meet everyone?”

Broken Silence by Jennifer Kacey

I was asked to write a book in the Black Hills Wolves multi author series by another one of our amazing divas, Rebecca Royce.
From the moment we discussed Paul and his heart ache I HAD to write his story. There are less than a handful of characters that have yanked at my heart strings as much as Paul did. I LOVED getting to help him find his forever with PG and find his rightful place in the pack. Thought I'd share an excerpt today because a couple days ago I received a very awesome fan email about how Paul's story touched her.

Can't begin to describe how awesome it is when someone takes the time to tell me when one of my stories changes them! I love writing so much. SO. MUCH.

Enjoy!!

More than a decade before, when Paul was nothing but a child, fate dealt him a hand he couldn’t win. Silenced him forever for speaking out against the former Alpha, stole his destiny, and robbed him of his place in the pack.

Presley Ginger, a tiny human female, couldn’t have been further from what he expected to walk into the bar and alter his future. But he couldn’t tell her anything about his wolf or his shift. Nothing. Bound by a direct order from the enforcer to keep her in the dark, his need for her would never see the light of day. Then the moon rose above him in the presence of his mate and changed everything.

For years, in the background is where he stayed, unable to find his voice. Until his rainbow-haired mate showed up in the Black Hills—with the answer in her hands.
This is book #42 in the Black Hills Wolves series from Decadent Publishing!!

Paul woke screaming.
Well. His version of screaming. A bit different with no tongue. He tried to strangle the noise in his throat by clenching his teeth together and it finally worked.
Breath rushed in and out of his lungs and he wiped at his face.
Wet.
Wet with blood.
Panic gripped him as he fumbled for the light on his nightstand.
Several things hit the floor before he found the switch.
Wiping his face again his heart stopped as he looked at his hand.
Sweat.
His head hit the headboard as he relaxed.
It was only sweat. Thank God.
He counted to a hundred to try to calm his erratic pulse. And then did it again until he could breathe normally.
His future was Hail Mary’d that day. His life was thrown as hard as possible into the wind with who knew what on the other end.
He could have died. If he were human he probably would have.
Yet—he’d lived.
Some days he wondered if surviving was a good thing or a bad thing.
Things were better with Drew, the new Alpha—an immeasurable amount better. More than a decade after he was ostracized from the pack, Drew returned to take his rightful place at the head of it. Challenging his father, Drew killed Magnum in an Alpha challenge.
It was quick. Decisive.
The fact someone had been poisoning Magnum for some time played little into the outcome of the fight. Paul had his suspicions, but he said nothing—warned no one. Magnum’s death proved far quicker than Paul had wanted.
The man who mutilated him should have suffered. He didn’t like having those feelings but they were there. They were there for Magnum and for the five wolves who’d stolen his future.
They were all dead—every one of them. Taken out because they couldn’t be trusted. Killed because they decided their hate was worth fighting for.
They were wrong.
Sometimes….
Sometimes Paul wouldn’t remember they were dead. Sometimes getting stuck in the past was as simple as slipping on an old coat full of holes. The illusion of warmth clung to his foggy brain but he was so cold. His faith in others? Fleeting, so he had a hard time putting his trust in anyone.
Or friendship.
Or love.
He shook his head and ran his fingers over his short blond hair making sure it was still cropped close to his skull.
Short. He always kept his hair short now.
Short enough no one could grab it.
Never again would it be used against him.
Staring at his hands in front of him, he measured their width. Their size was the same as the other Wolves in the pack, but his hands didn’t pull the same weight. He was damaged goods. Unable to speak to anyone, he looked at the nightstand to find his only method of communicating. Two things which hadn’t fallen were his notepad and pen he kept with him all the time. So he could write clipped messages to people when he had to communicate.
It got the job done, but the necessity left him even more disconnected. Relaxing his biceps, he let his hands fall to his lap then he closed his eyes, as he tried to focus past the nightmare.
The pack had hope again—stronger than ever thanks to the deaths. They’d found unity and faith in their Alpha. Hell, they even found faith in each other, in their pack, first decimated by a madman then wounded by another.
The members of the Black Hills Wolves were coming home. He was happy to be a part of the growth. Happy to help welcome them back. He’d stayed for so many years with the hope of witnessing the resurrection of their pack.
Theirs.
Not his.
Never his, because he was separate from them. Lesser. He’d never be Alpha. Sure as hell wasn’t a Dominant Wolf by any stretch of the word. Barely even a Beta with the females of the pack. He was relegated to being an Omega. A weakling. Yes they all told him he was needed. Wanted even. They told him Omegas made the pack stronger, they helped—but how? No, he didn’t see it.
He shook his head and rubbed it one more time.
The night was so silent all around him.
Where he always stayed. In the silence.
Most days it still felt as if he were free falling toward a black future with nothing to hold onto. Where he’d land, he didn’t know.
All he prayed for each night and every morning? To find when he landed—he wouldn’t be alone.

Decadently Yours,
Jennifer Kacey

Excerpt:
He reached out with his Wolf senses. The feedback froze his fingers on the doorknob. Female. Damn, she smelled good. Human. Wolf. Wait…both? The copper tang of blood hit his nose. And injured.

He flung open the door. His abrupt move caught his visitor off guard, one small, white fist raised to knock. The woman startled and fell forward. Catching her, he pulled her inside, kicking the door shut with his foot.

She sagged against him, a shivering bundle of wet woman. Underneath the dampness, her scent drop-kicked his gut. Apples and cinnamon. Roses and honey. His body perked up, taking extreme notice. He fought the growl of possession threatening to tear out of his throat. Holy hell, had his potential mate just walked into his home in the middle of a storm?

The scent of her blood jump-started his brain into action. He lowered her gently to the floor. “Jesus. You okay?”

His instincts urged him to check her for wounds, but he was a stranger and didn’t want to spook her. But goddamn, he wanted to touch her. Peel off her wet clothes. See all of her. With a jacket covering her torso, tight jeans hiding her legs, and her ball cap pulled low on her face, all he’d seen so far was her quivering pale chin, full red lips, and those delicate, trembling hands.

“S-s-sorry, d-dripping all ov-v-ver your f-f-floor,” she said, teeth chattering. Her snow white fingers curled on the hardwood, arms trembling with her effort to keep herself upright. Blood streaked the wood. A line of liquid crimson slid down her jaw and dripped from her chin onto her jacket.

To hell with propriety. “You’re injured. Let me help you.” He pulled off her cap and damn near swallowed his tongue.

Big green eyes blinked up at him from a face so pale it made him think of moonlight. Drenched, short black hair lay plastered to her head, the ends framing features reminiscent of the fairies his sister loved to draw for the hidden-object games she designed. Ethereal beauty. My beauty. He stroked a knuckle down her cheek then ran his thumb over her soft, full lower lip.

She flinched and batted his hand away, falling to her side in the process.

Ross snapped back to reality with a healthy hit of guilt. “Shit. Sorry.”

His gaze shot to her forehead where a two-inch cut sent blood trailing over her prominent cheekbone with its silky-smooth skin he’d so enjoyed caressing—

Shit. He gave himself a mental ass kicking for scaring her. “I’m Ross. You’re safe here. Promise.”
