Time is Running Out- Wild Wicked Weekend 2017

This February I will be down in San Antonio for my first ever Wild Wicked Weekend. I have been promised a weekend of laughing and hijinks with 150 other romance authors and readers. And let's not forget the fellas. Some of your favorite covers will be on hand, too.

WWW is held at the notorious Menger Hotel, February 23-25th, and is hosted by Brenna Zinn, Dalton Diaz, Desiree Holt, Ella James/Myla Jackson, and Samantha Cayto. I told you, fun!

Jumping right in on the festivities, I even signed up to be a sponsor. Yep, yours truly sponsored the trip to a dungeon. That's right, a dungeon. I'm planning on doing a lot of research that evening. :)

As of this morning, there were only 30 spaces left, so check out the WWW website and come join in on the fun. I don't want to be the only first timer there!

Until next time!

Anna is in New York- RWA 2015

Welcome to New York!

For eight days I explored the island of Manhattan for the Romance Writers of America National Conference. The trip was extra special because I was able to spend some time with my sister and brother before conference ramped up.

I visited The Woman in Gold at the Neue Galerie, scoured the shelves at Midtown Comics and the Drama Book store, looked at all the pretty fabrics at Mood, saw Ant-Man at the movie theater in Times Square, went to the top of Rockefeller Plaza, and sampled cuisines ranging from Japanese to the hole in the wall Ramen shop where I watched the progression of a cockroach as it crossed the ceiling and the horrified face of the woman who sat directly under said cockroach. As I said, welcome to New York.

I also got to see some excellent theater such as The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time and Finding Neverland. Both were fantastic! The conference itself was interesting as always. Talked to some of my favorite authors, networked like crazy, and made plans with my friends to take over the world. But I have to say that the highlight of the week was watching my friend Anna Richland win the Rita award for best novella for His Road Home. A book that has been featured on this blog. And I'm not just saying that because she thanked me personally in her speech. I am so proud of her!

But what's a conference with a video? Below are some of the highlights of my trip.

Thanks for the memories y'all.

Anna's RT Book Lovers Convention Wrap Up

Howdy y'all!

It's my turn to share my memories from RT2015. I got to squeeze by friends, make some new ones, and talk to a lot, and I mean a lot of people. The Elite Metal girls were out in force and we had a blast with our scavenger hunt. Jennifer Kacey and I got our corsets on, and I bonded over super heroes with Scott Nova, who is on the cover of the next Sprawling A Ranch book. But you know me, I'm a visual person, so I put my entire week to music with a fabu slide show.

Watch. Enjoy. And I hope to see you all in Las Vegas for RT2016!

Until next time! Anna- The Super Diva

Yeehaw- It's time for the Romantic Time Convention!

Right this moment I am winging my way to the Romantic Times Convention in Dallas, Texas. This is my second time at RT and I am expecting a gargantuan amounts of fun. And since I'll be hanging with the likes of Jennifer Kacey, Sabrina York, Roxie Rivera, Heather Long, and Saranna DeWylde, it's shaping up to be a rip roaring good time.

What? Oh, you noticed that I'm talking about the Elite Metal girls? That's right. We are hosting a scavenger hunt. Collect a bookmark from one of us and fill it up with the appropriate stickers to be entered to win a fantastic swag bag. We'll also have buttons with all of our characters to bling out your lanyard. And of course I'll have some "Give Me Your Hands, Punkin" buttons as well. After all, that phrase was launched at last year's RT.

Can't be with us in person? Follow along on Facebook and Twitter. #EliteMetal or #RT2015. We'd love to hear from you.

See you there!

Anna Alexander Does the Emerald City Comic Con

The 2015 Emerald City Comic Con was insane. 80,000 people, over 200 hundred hours of workshops and panels, and exhibitor space that goes on forever. It’s Halloween and Christmas bundled up in three days of awesome, and I was a part of it.

Yep, this year I had the opportunity to be a player in the action and moderate several workshops in the Writer’s Block section of programing. I got to hang with authors Holly Black, Peter V. Brett and RJ Terrel, among many others, and talk about different topics in the writing world like pitching an idea, writing magic, and diversity in commercial fiction.

Seriously!
I also attended several of the celebrity panels and got my shopping on. I scored several charms, a new corset (of course) and super cool nail art I’m going to wear to the RT Convention. Adamantium nails- Score!

Who's ready to learn how to pitch?

Some of the fantastic costumes.

Haley Atwell said Chris Evan’s lips are soft and he smells really good. J She also spoke very eloquently about feminism, but, you know,  Chris Evans.

One of my purchases.

My first panel. Writing Magical McGuffins with Holly Black, HL Reasby, and Peter V. Brett.

Don't you love these Lego men? And of course, Stan Lee is represented.

Gina Torres –I think the power of your femininity can move you just as far as a set of balls. (Preach!)

Clark Gregg- For those of you who write Coulson/Thor/Hawkeye fanfic. Keep writing it. He thinks it’s funny, especially when the artists draw him with bigger muscles than he actually has. Also, I love it when an actor knows his show and is just as excited about the work as the fans. So attractive.
Did you know Anthony Mackie was roommates with Lee Pace while at Julliard? His stories about his early acting years are funny.

Oh, Captain my Captain.
John Barrowman is hysterical. If you have the chance to see him at a Con, go!

Get your copy today!
Next year the event will be four days. FOUR! I’m starting the countdown until next year now. J

Anna Dishes on the Emerald City Writers Conference

October is the month when I feel like a rock star with back to back conferences. On Tuesday I shared my time at Romanticon and today it's the Emerald City Writers' Conference!

Me and Diva Sabrina
ECWC is geared more toward writers, and offers workshops on all aspects of the romance publishing industry. We have our fun too, but believe me when I say this conference is when I get some serious work done. I had the pleasure of presenting a workshop on writing sexy scenes with Gail Bridges and fellow Decadent Diva Sabrina York, and I had the privilege of handing out the awards for the Emerald City Opener winners.

Thor had my post-conference whiskey waiting. Good boy.
Kim Killion presented some workshops on book covers, and even brought along cover model Harvey Stables for some photo fun. This was a conference first and a big hit. Of course it might have helped that I was front and center with a camera egging people on and showing them how it's done. Spending some time with the EC Cavemen has given me some experience. Thor, Bradley Cooper, Capt Jack, Ryan Gosling and Starlord also made an appearance.

Here are some pics of the fantastic weekend, and of course a little video. If you have the chance to attend next year, I'd love to see you!

Until next time!

Anna's Romanticon Highlights!

Jennifer, Erin, and Cait all shared their Romanticon adventures and now it's my turn!!

Actually, we all had about the same adventures because we spent a lot of time together, and the hotel wasn't that big :)

Yes, conference attendance was smaller than last year, but the fun was ten-times the size. I loved getting to know my fellow authors and, even better, our readers in an environment where it was really all about the books and how they make us feel.

It really is amazing to see a group of women talking about how books influence their lives. How they give them an opportunity to live experiences they might not have the chance to. To dream about scenarios they didn't know were possible. That is why I write, and I'm so glad I didn't miss out on spending time with these amazing women.

If you've been following me on Facebook, you've seen that I am having lots of fun with video. Here are a few of my favorite pics as well as a montage of my Romanticon experience,

Enjoy!

Highlights of Romanticon 2014

Last week me, Diva Jennifer Kacey, Diva Cait Miller and Diva Anna Alexander attended Romanticon 2014.  It was a smaller conference than years past but that didn't take away from the fun us ladies had.  We met readers, did several workshops, danced are asses off, drank, and were entertained by the handsome Ellora's Cave men. If you've never gone to Romanticon, I encourage you to go.  I've done several conference over the last few years and this one by far is the most fun.  Here are some pictures from this years conference. Enjoy lovelies....

Show Us Your "O" Face...Jenn and I had so much fun with the fans. There were lots of giggles and some of the women did rather well. We were impressed. LOL

A group of us out to dinner on the first night before the author meet and greet.

I was grinning wide cozying up between these handsome guys.

Diva Anna Alexander, Jenn Kacey, Erin Simone and Cait Miller taking pictures with the men of Ellora's Cave.  Yeah, it's a tough job being an author but we don't mind. Hee, hee, hee, hee....

One of the Naughty Panels I participated in....

And I danced, and danced, and danced my ass off....

There were also awards given to a few of my pals that were well-deserved. Congrats Diva Anna Alexander, Jennifer Kacey, Cait Miller, and also my dear friend Laurann Dohner....

Bingo Night with the Cavemen. If you win they give you a lap dance. I won twice. Ha!!! No video. What happens at Romanticon stays at Romanticon. LOL

The Book Fair Romanticon was a very happy day for me. I really enjoyed meeting with the fans and it's such a rush to hold something you've created in your hands. Yup, I'm a proud mama.

And the performances by the guys were amazing.  But like all good things, it went by quickly. We left with a lot of good memories and I'm excited for what my publisher has planned for next year.

Hope you enjoyed.

Muah!!  Warmly Diva Simone
