Excerpt

“Think he’s dead?” [...]

Nice voice. Soft and smooth, like velvet. Feminine. Clearly, he wasn’t alone.

“He sure looks dead.” A second woman replied, louder and with a chuckle. He suppressed a scowl and kept his eyes closed. She thinks this is funny? Bodies shifted behind whatever his head had cracked into, edging closer to either side of him.

“There’s no blood, though,” she of the velvet voice murmured. “Shouldn’t there be blood? [...]”

She came to a halt near his head, her body heat and peaches-and-honey scent saturating his senses. He should open his peepers and say something, see if the female looked as good as she sounded and smelled. Shit. Where had that reaction come from? He had no room in his life for a woman, especially not a mortal woman.

“Maybe we should check for a pulse,” [...]

“I’m not touching his body.”

Fast reply [...]. Jesus, did he look so horrible? And double Jesus, why did her opinion matter? He must have hit his head harder than he imagined.

“C’mon, girlfriend. It’s a big, beautiful body. How can you not want to get your hands on it?”

Listen to your girlfriend, Peaches. ...

Have a great September, Dear Readers, and I'll see you back here on September 30th with more book fun. :-)

The motto at the city’s most hedonistic nightclub, The Cavern, is “All who enters receives exactly what they need,” and at the moment Miranda needed to sober up and get the hell out of there. Her lame attempt at adventure was about to go down as the stupidest idea ever when the club’s über-hunky badboy designer whisks her onto the dance floor and offers to make her sexiest fantasies come true. Maybe it was the overpriced drinks talking, but if she was going to fail, it might as well be in a blaze of glory. Leather cuffs and forbidden pleasure? She’s all in.

Jorges finds Miranda’s self-deprecating humor refreshing and falls for her girl-next-door charm as he coaxes her inner sex goddess out to play. Who knew that within the wallflower lurked a sizzling siren? Before the sun rises, Jorges realizes one night of passion will never be enough. Now he must convince Miranda she is exactly what he needs.

Regulated to mandatory time off, he begins to re-examine his priorities and entertain the idea of his sexy ER doctor having him on the receiving end of a set of handcuffs. Ever since Marco discovered Dr. Jasmine Jovanovich’s secret life as a dominatrix, he’s been eager to feel the bite of her Stiletto in his back as she makes him worship at her feet.

Jasmine agrees to be his guide into the darker pleasures, and is delight when he dives in with the same enthusiasm as he does his police work, that is until he makes her question her “Cavern Only” policy, and wants to blur the lines between her professional and personal life. When Jasmine is caught in the fallout of one of his cases, Marco must convince her that not only can she trust him to keep her body safe, but her heart as well.

The Perfect Marine- Thallium's Submission

The Alpha submissive. An intriguing character indeed, and one I find fascinating.

Many assume the submissive male is always a doormat, a wimp, a weakling. A myth that can't be further from the truth (most of the time.) The Alpha submissive is a fierce warrior. A champion for his woman, putting her happiness and needs before all else. He will fight for her, defend her, and worship at her feet. A delicious cocktail of strength and supplication that makes me want to curl into this fine specimen's strong arms.

That was my vision for Thallium in the Elite Ghosts boxset. A deadly warrior who always gets the job done. He is a man that finds comfort in fulfilling orders. And in Athena, he has found a woman who's courage and honor he wishes to serve until the end of time. That is if he can keep her ex-husband and Red Wolf from killing her first. I loved writing their story, especially the wacky things Athena would think of to say to try to make Thallium laugh during sex. Cracked me up. But the best compliment I had was when I overheard my editor tell another author that I wrote a heroine that every woman over forty wishes she could be. Awesome!

Read, love, and enjoy!

Thallium's Submission

From now on the only orders he will follow are hers.

Timothy “Thallium” LaStrange is the perfect Marine, and takes the phrase “live to serve” to an entirely new level as he carries out any order he is given. His mission: Protect the ex-wife of the president of one of the most notorious motorcycle clubs before she testifies to put her former husband away forever. When their location is compromised, Thallium is cut off from his team and must take the lead to keep his charge alive—a task that becomes increasingly difficult the more time he spends with the sexy, dynamic woman who makes him want to fall to his knees in worship.

Athena knew what she risked trying to put all of the ugliness in her life to an end. And now, that includes a young, battle-scarred Marine who is the only thing standing between her and death. Thallium’s strength and honor are too beautiful to put in harm’s way, and when he admits his need to submit to her every desire, she’ll do anything in her power to protect him.

Excerpt-

“Tell me about this group you work for,” she said, desperate for more information about this intriguing man.
     “I can’t. We don’t exist.”
“You can’t tell me anything? Not one tiny little detail?”
Cockiness slid into his grin. “We’re really good at hiding.”
     “And?”
     “That’s it.”
     “No, really.”
Nothing. Not a word. Not a sound. Just a lift of his brow as he finished cleaning his plate.
She blew a raspberry in his direction and stood. “You’re terrible.”
Thallium stopped her as she reached for his plate. “I’ll get them.”
     “You cooked. I’ll clean.”
“Athena, I’ll do it.” He jumped from his chair and blocked her way to the kitchen sink.
     “I’ve got it, Thall.”
He latched onto the plate in her hand and pulled. “No. I’ve got it.”
“Why are you fighting me on this? I can clean a few dishes. I’m not an invalid or weak.”
“I don’t think you are w-weak. I’m here to provide for you.”
“Doing dishes is providing for me? You don’t have to take care of me.”
“I know—I’m not.” His eyes darted around the room as if the walls would give him the words to explain what was going on in his head. “I want, I need to…serve you.”
Serve you. The hairs on her neck stood on end at the way he phrased those words. “I don’t know if I understand.”
“I was, am, a good Marine. I follow orders. It makes me feel safe. I complete a task. I’ve done a good job. That’s my reward.”
“So that’s what this is about? Your orders are to take care of me, so this is just part of your job?”
“No—yes, no. My orders are to protect you.” His eyelids lowered with desire. “To serve you, that’s on me. I want to serve you in any capacity you will have of me.”
     “And by any capacity…”
“Any capacity,” he said in a husky timbre that left no doubt to his meaning. “I am yours, Athena.”
     “Why?”
Excuse me, girlfriend. Why are you questioning this? Here is a hunky man wanting to fulfill your every desire. What is the problem?
What was the problem? The problem was he was a hunky man she had known for less than twenty-four hours. And by the way he spoke, it sounded as if his wish went beyond just sex. A whole lot more.
“Why do you want to serve me?”
“I told you. You are an amazing woman. Strong. Brave. Gorgeous. Sexy. Is it so hard to imagine I’d want you?”
“But why do you want to serve me? Because it sounds like what you want is for me to be in control.”
His breath caught and a light flared in his eyes before he schooled his expression.
Ahhh. Now it was all becoming clear.
“Is that what you want, Thallium? Are you submissive and you want me to be your Domme?”
As his breathing escalated and his gaze bounced around the room, she grew afraid he was going to hyperventilate. He swallowed hard and answered so softly, she almost didn’t hear it. “Yes.”

Upcoming Release: Twisted

Shasta Monohan knows all about playboys. Hell, she got her heart ripped out by the ultimate bad boy—Caleb “Colt” Douglas—three years ago. Word around town is he’s back for one reason—to win her back. No way in hell is that happening. Then again, a no-strings romp might purge him from her system once and for all. Yeah. That’s exactly what she needs—closure.

Colt’s done a lot of crazy shit as front man for Twisted Delirium, but coming home may shove him over the edge. He vowed never to return, but after a whirlwind race to the top of the music scene, he’s figured something out. Fame and fortune can’t replace the one thing he wants more than anything. Shasta. Walking away from her was the biggest mistake he’s ever made. He’ll give her the one night stand with a bad boy she wants. He’ll even pretend it’s the closure they needed. Come morning, though, all bets are off.

Excerpt:
“Give him a chance, dammit. I want my rock princess back.”
“She’s gone, Bets. I need to move on, let the past go.”
“Bullshit. You’ve ghosted through life since he left. Give. Him. A. Chance.” She pulled away. “Pinky Sisters don’t chicken out.”
Ugh. She’d penned the moniker in recess during Mrs. Ward’s class. I should’ve nixed it then. Too late now. Our conversation before she turn coated her way out of the makeshift room banged around in my head, but my treacherous body honed in on the man prowling toward me as though I was filet mignon and he hadn’t eaten in a century.
My nipples hardened, my pulse quickened and my tattered heart pounded, as though sensing the man who’d walked away with pieces of it had returned for more. I surged backward, a defense mechanism activated by too many tequila-induced nights of what-if scenarios.
“This isn’t a good idea. I should go.”
“Don’t run. Give me a moment, please.” Desperation crossed his face. He reached for me, but drew his hand back and looked upward. “She didn’t tell you, did she?”
“Bets operates with her own sometimes questionable agenda.” I forced a smile and allowed my inner hussy a slow visual molestation of the man who’d starred in my every fantasy.
The spiked hair from the stage had been washed and left to hang in wild disarray. My fingers itched to run through the thick mass, but I avoided his eyes. No way was I prepared for the assault of the gray depths I sensed watching me.
Dragon tattoos trailed down both shoulders and melded into one another along his upper chest. One red, one blue. My mouth dried as I tracked the twin dragons tangling over his heart, their necks nuzzling one another. Tear drops tumbled from the blue one’s grey eyes. My belly fluttered as I counted the blood red droplets.
Seven.
I swallowed the lump in my throat. “Why are they bloody?”
Silence greeted my question as my visual inspection continued, halting on the last drop above his naval. He closed the distance between us, but I didn’t have it in me to retreat. The dragons undid my resolve to avoid the past. A part of me wanted to slam the vault shut on the entire evening, this conversation, and quadruple lock it. If I commissioned NASA to shoot it to Mars or somewhere far, far outside my reach, maybe my heart wouldn’t pound in my chest—willing an answer I had no business wanting, much less hearing.
Warm fingers fanned out on my cheek. His thumb settled beneath my chin and pulled upward until my gaze collided with the warm, gray ocean tinged with blue. A thousand worlds existed within the flecks and the masochist in me needed to know how many of them still revolved around me.
Did any?
His full lips drew closer, but I put my hand where the two dragons melded. “Why are they bloody?”
“I’m thinking you aren’t ready for my answer yet. Hearing it’d probably make you turn tail and run so fast it’d give me whiplash.” He licked his lips. My pulse flailed, my mouth desert dry. He held my neck as his lips fluttered across mine. Hot breath swept across my skin.
Arousal flared, a living breathing entity with a mind of its own. A growl rose from my gut as I seized hold of his shoulders and deepened the contact. Soap and shampoo wafted in my nostrils as my open eyes locked with Caleb’s. The eroticism flaring from the open-eyed kiss singed me clear to my toes.
