I'll admit it. I'm a book junkie. Admitting it might be half the battle but I'm actually not looking for a cure. By contrast, I am happy to stay proudly am addict. Frankly its why I became a writer in the first place. Back then, it was Christine Feehan books that did it to me. I couldn't get enough of the Carpathians.
These days, my taste in books has changed. I like books darker, hotter, and more intense than Feehan writes them but I'll always remember that feeling I had when I discovered those books. How intensely I needed to read them, how I craved the next book and the next book.
I don't have time in my life for books that make me feel only slightly interested. The author has a minute or two to catch my attention and then I'm done. And I've made some hard choices over the last few years--I've had to stop reading books that I once loved because they no longer seem interesting.
Its hard to write for a writer to read. We're picky. But I want to feel addicted. So give me some ideas. Who do you read that you can't get enough of?
