Three days in, one day behind

We are officially three days into the new year, and I'm already one day behind on my goals and resolutions. Welcome to 2018!

Fortunately, I set my goals for the week (ending on Sunday nights), so I have time to make things up. But it's frustrating to be behind the eight-ball so early in the game. I had a calendar that was bright and shiny and perfect and it lasted all of two days.

Alas.

But I am on track with a few things. And I cheat.  If I resolve not to smoke (I'm allergic to all forms of cigar and cigarette smoke) and not to chew on my toenails (I'm not that flexible), I can start and end the year with two perfectly kept resolutions.

Including those two things, I have five resolutions. # 3 is to hit my daily word goals. Being a writer means you are your own boss, and that means you have to hold yourself responsible. #4 is to exercise at least three times a week. I've already done this once, so yay, me! And #5, dust off my old textbooks and brush some of the rust off my language skills by spending an hour a week reminding myself of what I used to know.

I also set a goal on my Goodreads account of reading fifty-two books in 2018. (If you are on Goodreads, feel free to friend me!) This will be a real hardship, I'm sure.

I think the biggest challenge for 2018 is going to be on the work front. I've made some changes, and will be concentrating on sweet contemporary romance this year. You can keep up with my new series, and new releases in my existing series by signing up for my newsletter. I can promise that they are going to but a lot of fun.

Now it's time for me to make up for yesterday.

As for you? Go out and conquer 2018!

Resolutions? We dont need no stinkin' resolutions

If you may remember, 2016 for me started with a sinus infection and a broken heart. Yeah, it kinda stayed pretty consistent the rest of the year.

As optimistic as I try to be, the world political climate makes it difficult to be positive about a better 2017. Come on, I live right in the target zones of those Chinese/North Korean/ Russian nukes. And when you think about it, a lot of resolutions are just a year long version of lent.

So instead of promising to give up things for a year, or forever, I'm going to enjoy the moments. I'm going to enjoy that piece of Lindt Chocolate. I'm going to love the begeebus out of a whiskey ginger. Instead of exercising in a gym or to a video, I'm going to dance the hours away with my girls.

And laugh. I'm going to laugh a lot.

So to all of you, I wish you a year of enjoyment and pleasure. A year when you don't think of the things you are giving up but the year of what you can have.

Cheers!

Until next time-

New Year's Resolutions and I've decided to embrace one!!

Slowing down...
This is my New Year's Resolution.
I've been so busy and packing so much into not enough hours in the day that I've decided this year I REALLY need to make a conscious effort to stop and smell the roses.

So I'm going to do that...maybe in March!!! :)

If you need a little kink to kick start your year then I've included info on my latest release below!!
Love you guys!!! MWAH!!
Domenico was cursed six long years ago by a witch determined to teach him a lesson. A lesson in life, loss, and understanding that to love is to put someone first…always.
His only escape from his beautiful prison is a dating site called Crossroads. He can choose only one woman a year to contact. One woman to convince, in nothing more than a week, that he’s worthy of her love. But there’s a catch. She must fall asleep during a video chat so he can crawl through his laptop into her world. Then all bets are off.
His curse becomes his salvation when his beautiful submissive Rose is nothing but a dream away.

Resolutions and Wishes

Happy New Year!

Did you make a resolution this year, or did you make a wish? Yes, there is a difference. I stopped making formal resolutions a long time ago because they are always the same, and I’m certain we all share the same ones. Lose weight, eat healthier, be more tidy, finish that (insert project name here), and so on. Resolutions are something I must make happen. It is my responsibility if I succeed or fail. Not really magical when you think about it.

But I love magic, so every year I make wishes. These are things I wish to happen that are not entirely in my control. Things that require a bit of luck, or the touch of fate, or a really strong coincidence to make happen.

On the Winter Solstice I light my Yule log in my tiny fireplace that really shouldn’t be burning real fire, and make my new year’s wishes. I write them out on bay leaves and throw them onto the flames to turn to smoke and rise into the ether. I am a firm believer that the energy you put out is the energy that you receive. By sending my wishes into the sky I feel they have a better chance of coming true, and I have been fortunate that some of them have.

This year my sister introduced my family to wishing papers. If you haven’t seen these yet, they are really cool. Of course they can be a bit dangerous. I have the awesomest video of my grandmother almost catching the table on fire. If you see me, ask and I’ll show it to you.

For 2015 I wish you joy, I wish you luck. I wish you peace and happiness and that you receive not only what you want but also what you need.

Cheers-
