A Decadent Recipe, 2 Kindles and Foxy Time

Hello, Divas! I've missed you. As we roll into the season of all things decadent, I thought I'd share one of the recipes my favorite character, Rosie Peaks, loves on a chilly fall evening. Check out her newest book and if you read on, you'll see Megan Slayer and I are giving away 2 kindles, plushies, jewelry and more on Halloween night. If you make this recipe, be sure to let me know how much you love it.
Markus Foxxe is in Eriewood for one reason. His boss wants Rosie Peaks. He doesn’t know why and he shouldn’t care, but after meeting her, there’s no way Markus will hand her over to the highest bidder.
Rosie Peaks left DuFour, Indiana two years ago and found a safe haven away from all things paranormal. Working at Mulcahy’s Pub has been fairly uneventful. Until Markus Foxxe rolled into town in his silk suits with a primal sex appeal that makes her want to spend every night with him banging like a screen door in a hurricane. The only problem is, Rosie isn’t looking for a commitment and Markus seems as though he’s a one-mate kind of guy.
Will Markus change her mind? Or will Rosie find herself on the run again?

Melt butter and add sugars. Add eggs and apple pie filling. When the filling is incorporated, add vanilla, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Then, add flour. Mix well (wooden spoon works best).
Roll dough into walnut size balls. If dough is too sticky, chill for 1/2 an hour to and hour. Make thumbprint in center of cookie dough ball to flatten a bit. Sprinkle streusel topping in center.
Bake 8-10 minutes (depending on oven and altitude)
Makes 7-8 dozen cookies.

There you have it. I hope you enjoy Out-Foxxe'd and Rosie's recipe. Have a safe and happy Halloween, Divas.
XOXOX,
Madison

Cheesecake Love

Happy 4th of July!

Fireworks, family, barbecues, car shows, and food. Lots of food. That's what I think of when I hear 4th of July. As you may have guessed, I'm the baker in the family. And one of my favorite desserts is cheesecake.

In Sweetest Kisses, Nic wins Adam's heart with an orgasm-inducing cheesecake. This is a recipe some friends and I came up with in culinary school. I will never forget the look on my chef-instructors face when he saw what we were doing. "Where did you come up with that?" he asked. "It's Girl Scout cookie season," I replied. D'uh.

Samoan Cheesecake

8oz chocolate wafer cookie crumbs
3oz melted butter
1 pound 2oz Chevre (mild goat's milk cheese) room temperature
6oz Marscapone cheese
6oz granulated sugar
1/3 cup heavy cream
5 eggs at room temperature
8oz granulated sugar
1/3 cup heavy cream
3oz coconut flake
Dash of lemon juice and vanilla
Melted chocolate.

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Prepare a 9inch cake round or springform pan by covering the outside with aluminium foil.

Melted butter. Combine butter with cookie crumbs and press into the bottom of the pan and partway up the sides.
In a bowl cream together the Chevre, marscapone, and the six ounces of sugar. I a separate bowl, combine eggs and cream. Slowly mix egg mixture with the cheeses until smooth. Lumps cause cracks, so no lumps.
Pour in to the cake pan. Place a pan in the center of a roasting pan, then place in the over. Pour warm water into the roasting pan. About one to two inches deep. You are creating a steam bath.

Bake for about 50 minutes. After baking, allow the cake to cool. Once cool and released from the pan, melt the remaining sugar in a pan with a smidgen of water. Just enough to get the sugar wet. Let the sugar cook uninterrupted until it turns a golden brown color. Add the cream and a squirt of lemon juice and a dash of vanilla. Careful, the mixture will bubble fiercely. Stir in the flaked coconut. Pour over cheesecake in a thin layer.

Finish by melting some chocolate and drizzle over the top. I know!! Can you imagine!

If you want to make this cake more summertime, change out the chocolate cookies for graham crackers, and pour your favorite fruit mixture over the top.

Have a safe and sane 4th, y'all!

Until next time!

A Taste of the Sprawling A Ranch: The Crescent Moon Bar Chili

Food plays a roll in all of my books. Whether it's a restaurant or someone's profession, my characters love to eat.

In To Have Faith you find out about Ben's not so great youth. As a teen, he worked as a bouncer at the local tavern and ate what he could swipe from the kitchen. Years later, he still remembers the recipe and teaches it to Adam as they prepare for the return of the rest of the crew while they were away. Now we're going to share that recipe with you!

The Crescent Moon Bar Chili

 2 pounds Italian sausage
 1 onion, finely diced
 1 green bell pepper, chopped
 3 cloves garlic, minced
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
 3 tablespoons tomato paste
 ½ cup whiskey :)
1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans
 2 tablespoons chili powder
 1 tablespoon ground cumin
1/2 tablespoon cayenne pepper (or to taste)
 1 tablespoon salt
 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Get it now on Amazon
Brown sausage and set aside on a paper towel covered plate. Sauté onions and peppers. Add tomato paste and garlic. Let cook for a few minutes. Add whiskey. J Spices and sausage to pot, then the can of tomatoes at the end. Let simmer for an hour. Serve with your favorite chili toppings and enjoy!

And don't forget the special offer at the end of To Have Faith. Leave a review of the book on your favorite site, email me the link, and receive a copy of the next book in the Sprawling A series for free!

Happy eatin' y'all!
