The World of Drakons

Part of the fun about being a writer is getting to create new and exciting worlds for my characters. In my Blood of the Drakon series, there are drakons spread throughout the world. Drakons are the male offspring that were the result of matings between pureblooded dragons and human women about 4000 years ago. The dragons returned to their own realm, abandoning their sons to our world. Drakons have the cunning, strength, preternatural abilities, and instincts of their dragon sires, along with the intellect and emotions of their human mothers. A deadly combination.

Their existence is known to very few, but there are those who wish to cage them for their blood, which can offer healing and immortality to humans who drink it. And now, after all these years, many of the drakons are finally finding their fated mates.

But the path to love is never smooth, especially when your chosen mate is always your greatest enemy.

Drakon’s Knight
Blood of the Drakon, Book 7

Drakon Jericho Drake, the child of a pure-blood dragon and human, has a simple plan: Kill the leader of the Knights of the Dragon and start a war. Except, when he meets his target, Karina Azarov, she can’t remember who she is. Worst of all––he can’t kill her. His dragon side has just claimed the dangerous woman as his mate.

Karina has no idea why these Drakon’s have taken her to their home. And she most certainly does not understand why she’s so drawn to her captor. Maybe because he’s strong, intelligent, and caring, in his enigmatic sort of way. One thing she knows, he’s not going to hurt her. If only she could remember something from her past that would explain why these Drakon’s hate her so much.

But if her memory returns, mated or not, he may get his war.. And one of them will die.

TEASER:

He looked at her, then—really looked. His eyes were pure black, but there was something in their depths. Red and violet flames. She blinked several times, not quite able to believe what she was seeing.

“You’re a drakon?” Who believed such things? Obviously, she had, and so did Jericho.

He nodded. “Yes. And you’re my greatest enemy.”

Her stomach sank. It wasn’t safe to be his foe, to be on the wrong side of any of these men. Drakons aside, they reeked of danger, of determination and drive. They’d do whatever it took to get a job done.

“Why haven’t you already killed me?” Maybe she was crazy to ask, to remind him of his original intention, but she had to know.

He gave a rough laugh, but it wasn’t a pleasant sound. “Why? I’ve asked myself that a dozen times since I pulled you from the wreckage.” He absently rubbed his chest. “It seems Fate or Nature or whatever you want to call it is a fickle bitch and has played a mean trick on us both.”

She didn’t want to ask, afraid of the answer. “And that trick is?”

He leaned forward, a scowl on his rough-hewn face. “That you’re my mate.”

More Drakons are Coming...

I have a new book releasing on August 27th! I'm really excited about Drakon Unchained. I'd originally planned on writing only 4 books for the Blood of the Drakon series but couldn't seem to stop.

I love writing paranormal novels. The possibilities are limitless. As the author, I create the world in which my characters exist. In this series there are drakons--the sons of pure-blooded dragons and human women. Their sires are long gone from this world, but their sons, the drakons, remain. They are thousands of years old, powerful and intelligent, cunning and ruthless, a perfect combination between primal dragon and human.

But they still have enemies who will stop at nothing to capture and control a drakon.

Drakon Unchained
Blood of the Drakon, Book 5

Victoria Marshall is living a lie. She works for a member of the Knights of the Dragon, a secret society that traps and uses dragons for their own gain. As a child, she made an unlikely friend—a drakon. He went missing, and she’s spent the past twenty years searching for him. The only thing distracting her from her mission is Luther Henderson, her boss’s new head of security.

Luther is also living a lie. One, if discovered, could lead to a fate worse than death. He’s attracted to Victoria, but can’t fully trust her, doesn’t know if she’s truly innocent or a true member of the Knights. It’s not only his life at stake, but those of the people he loves.

As they’re thrust deeper into the dangerous dealings of the Knights, they each have to share their secrets in order to survive.

TEASER:

Luther didn’t feel much sympathy for Dent or the others. If you were foolish enough to take on such a powerful creature you couldn’t expect it to be easy. He wondered how many other Knights had died at the hands of dragons.

For as much as he knew about the Knights, Luther knew it was only the tip of the iceberg. They didn’t share easily. Many of the men working beneath him didn’t know anything about the Knights. All they knew was they worked security for powerful people, the kind of people who didn’t allow mistakes or betrayals to go unpunished. Most of the men were former military who wanted the good wages they made and were used to following orders and not asking questions.

That worked out well for Temple and the other Knights.

Unfortunately, he had a sinking feeling Victoria would ask too many questions. Oh, she wouldn’t ask them directly. The woman was nothing if not intelligent. But she would ask them in her mind and that would drive her to seek answers.

He’d have to protect her.

The rightness of his decision settled over him, but he wasn’t entirely comfortable with it. How could he protect her and still infiltrate deeper into the inner realms of the Knights? He’d have to stay away from her, to keep her on the periphery of whatever was going to happen in Utah.

That was the safest way to handle the situation for both of them. But it wasn’t what he wanted. What he truly wanted was to take Victoria to his home, strip her out of her prim and proper suits, and discover what she wore beneath them. Would it be lace like he’d fantasized or white cotton? Did she wear pantyhose or stockings? These were things he wanted to know, needed to know until his blood practically simmered with impatience.

But he might have to live with the deprivation of never knowing. And that was a crime he could lay directly at Temple’s door. There would be a reckoning, an accounting for all the man’s crimes, but it wouldn’t happen today.

Meet Lia Davis's Sons of War

Hello, everyone! I'm currently working on the third book in the Sons of War series--Zavier and Elle's story. I'd thought I'd share, with those who may not be familiar with the series, a little info into the world and the Sullivan brothers.

The Sons of War is a series based off the Greek mythology of the Spartoi with a few twist of my own. The myth is that the Spartoi were warlike warriors who sprang from the earth fully grown from the sown teeth of Ares’s sacred drakon (dragon).

My twists are these warriors can shift into dragons and are considered to be Ares’s sons and there are called the Sons of War.

I’ve always loved dragons. They’re beautiful, mystical, magical, predators, and just scary. Lol You take those traits and mix them with human aspects and you get a growly, sexy alpha male shifter. I infused all of these traits into the Sons of War. Each dragon is different. They are all sons of Ares, Greek god of war, but each is a different color and personality.

Markus: Black hair, midnight-blue eyes. He stands 6’3”. His dragon is black with a hue of blue on the top layer of scales. He’s the unofficial leader of the Sons of War and is more like his father than he’d like to admit.

Ty (Tyson): His hair is dark auburn and eyes are dark brown, almost black. He stands 6’5”. He co-owns a construction company with his brother Seth. His dragon is red with a hue of gold on the top layer of scales. He doesn’t trust females after being betrayed by one that left his right eye unable to shift back to its human appearance.

Zavier: He has dark blond hair and green eyes and stands 6’2”. His dragon is dark green under a light green. Computers, security, and the house finances are his domain. He’s gentler than his brothers, but just as deadly.

Seth: He has caramel brown hair, grey eyes, and stands 6’0”. His dragon is white with an overlay of purple. He’s the co-owner of Sullivan Contractors with Ty. Sensuality is his specialty. He loves to work with his hands both out of the bedroom and in it.

Drake: Has brown hair and blue eyes. He stands 6’3”. His dragon is brown with a silver overlay. Friendly is not a word I’d use to describe him. He hides behind a darkness that he has yet to share with me and that puts him on a lethal edge. He spends his time searching for their evil brother, Garrick, and finding ways to stop him from creating another war against the gods.
