Long Road Home-Black Hills Wolves

Thom is suspicious, flirty, and—worst of all—human. He believes the whole town of Los Lobos is one large cult. And if that isn’t bad enough, somebody seems determined to kill him. The man might as well have a huge, Do Not Touch sign painted on his back.

None of that stops Hank from wanting the farmer the moment they meet. Just because he wants something, however, doesn’t mean he’s going to get it. He learned that lesson early on in life. Thanks to his sexual orientation, he’ll never find the one thing every Wolf craves: a pack. Best for him to do his job and get back on the road.

But time spent with a human can do funny things to a Wolf. Especially a human as addictive as Thom.

Excerpt:

“No need to apologize. This morning added a bit of adventure to an otherwise-boring week.” Hank didn’t want him to feel bad for anything, especially since his gut still told him the attack was on the Tao pack more than the farmer. “I do need to run something by you.”
  “Okay.”
Here goes. He took a deep breath and started, “Drew and I think you might benefit from a little extra help around the farm. Only until you’re healed.”
Thom cleared his throat. “I’ve got help. Also, I’m not an invalid.” He sat up straighter in the bed as if the action would prove he was capable of taking care of himself.
“We didn’t mean to imply we thought you were. Running a farm has to be a hard on a good day. You’re going to be laid up for at least a couple of weeks. We wanted to help. An extra pair of hands couldn’t hurt, could it?” He held his hands palm up in front of him as he spoke.
Thom glanced at Hank’s hands and the sweetest shade of red swept over his cheeks—like strawberries in the summer. It took every ounce of control he had not to run his fingers along Thom’s blush.
“Whose hands?” He shook his head and coughed lightly. “I mean, who would you send to help with the farm?”
“Me.” Hank said the word so softly, it might as well have been a whisper. “Before you say anything, you should know I’d need a place to sleep while I’m there.” His heart raced and his stomach knotted with sexual tension as he imagined sleeping in a warm bed next to the handsome farmer.

Thom’s eyes widened and his mouth dropped into an O as he stared at Hank. “You?” Surely the man wasn’t suggesting what Thom hoped he was. Gorgeous men didn’t drop from the sky and throw themselves into his bed.

Release Day!!

Long Road Home is out!!

Being part of a shared world has been such an amazing opportunity for me. Writing is so often a solitary industry but writing in the same world makes all my writer friends feel closer. We're all in this world together.

It was fitting that Hank and Thom, my heroes in Long Road Home, both live solitary lives as well. Hank as a truck driver and Thom as a farmer.

Blurb:

Thom is suspicious, flirty, and—worst of all—human. He believes the whole town of Los Lobos is one large cult. And if that isn’t bad enough, somebody seems determined to kill him. The man might as well have a huge, Do Not Touch sign painted on his back.

Excerpt:

What am I doing? He hadn’t been so twisted up by a guy since high school. When he’d been younger, the behavior had been acceptable. He hadn’t come out. Hell, he hadn’t even admitted the truth to himself. He wasn’t a nervous and naive boy any longer.
When he reappeared, Thom said, “I’m attracted to you. I should’ve told you before you offered to stay and help me, but everything happened so fast. The timing never seemed right. Then I wanted you to stay, but not to help me. Which wasn’t fair to you. So I’m telling you. I’m attracted to you.”
Hank stared at him for a second. The shock of the declaration was written on his crinkled brow and his agape mouth. Then he blinked and shook his head. He wrapped his arms around Thom’s waist before he leaned forward and kissed him.
The stubble on Hank’s face brushed against his cheek and his lips were firm and demanding. He moaned under the sensual onslaught. When Hank took advantage of the sound to deepen the kiss, Thom’s cock swelled and his heart raced.
“Inside. Now.” The rough words couldn’t be mistaken for anything other than a command. One Thom complied with instantly.

The Countdown Is On!

It's funny how time flies. It feels like just yesterday I was sitting at a coffee shop with Rebecca Royce and she said, "Black Hills Wolves could use a truck driver."

I replied, "I could write a truck driver."

"And a farmer," she added. "We need a farmer."

And that's how Long Road Home was born! It seems like I just blinked and now the book is releasing a week from today!! I can't even believe it. I'm so excited to see this story come to life.

Excerpt:

Their conversation was interrupted by a loud bang echoing through the air. He recognized the sound of a gun being fired a split second after Hank’s large, muscular, not to mention warm, body crashed into his and threw him to the ground. For a second he worried Hank had been hit. He dismissed the idea when the man rolled off him and then jumped up to a crouch. His movements were so quick and fluid. He couldn’t have been injured.

“Are you okay?” Hank ran his palms over Thom’s body patting his arms and legs at random intervals.
“Were you hit?”

He jumped as Hank patted his thigh. Dear God. The man was about to find out more about Thom’s condition then he probably ever wanted to. “Nope. Not hit.” He rolled over as a second shot rang through the eerie silence. This time he noticed the shot had come from the yard. “I think the target is outside.” The statement was followed by four more shots. When the trucker went to run for the door, he grabbed the man’s arm. “What the hell are you doing?”

Hank brushed him off. “I’m going to go see who’s shooting and at what.”

The statement had been so matter of fact, he didn’t process it until the other man took another step toward the barn door. “Wait. You can’t go out there. Whoever is shooting will start shooting at you.”

“I’ll be fine.”

He grabbed Hank again. “Really? Are you bulletproof? I didn’t think so.”

“What do you suggest? We can’t stay in the barn all day. We’ll be pinned if they storm it.”

After a few more seconds passed by with no more gunfire, the barn returned to the tense quiet as the animals settled down. “I don’t think so. I think they’ve gotten whatever they came for.” Before Hank could go commando on him again, Thom pulled out his cell phone.

“Who are you calling?”

“The police.”
