Former professional poker player, Kendra “Night Owl” Lowe, is determined to make her new Poker Flat Nudist Resort successful, even if it means relying on her own two hands and a few misfit employees. All bets are off, however, when Wade Johnson arrives, her fourth stable manager in less than four months, and her attention wanders to his broad shoulders, six-pack abs, and polite ways. But she’s his boss and giving in to temptation could mean jeopardizing her operation. Something she refuses to do.

Wade Johnson only agreed to work at Poker Flat because he owed his best friend a favor. Now he has to discover why the last three stable mangers quit and fulfill the requirements of his position, while trying to keep his hands off the smart, sexy, unreadable owner. But even as his body and heart become more involved, new “unfortunate events” occur to threaten the resort.

As Wade draws closer to learning the truth, his own truth is revealed. Kendra will do everything she can to make her resort a success, which could include letting him go. To win her heart and save her dream, he will have to go all-in and that could mean baring more than his soul.

Wade took the plate from her and brought it to the sink. “I’ll just wash these up for Selma and head to bed.”
She was off the stool and grabbing the sprayer before he could reach it. “No. You made the meal for me. I can clean up. You’ve probably had a long day. When did you get up?”
He shrugged. “Probably around five. I didn’t really pay attention.”
“Exactly. I’ll stay and clean up. Go get a good night’s sleep. You have a lot of ordering to do tomorrow based on your lists.”
His eyes widened. “You really approve of everything?”
Kendra put her other hand on her hip. “Listen. I don’t know anything about horses. All I know is what nudists like based on research. I’ll come up with something for the nude riding, but I need an expert to set up my stables and trails. You’re that expert. I’m not going to get in the way of that.”
He smiled, his eyes almost twinkling in his excitement. “Well then, boss. I definitely need to be doing the dishes for you.”
He reached for the sprayer and without thinking, she pulled it out and sprayed him.
“Oh my God, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to.” She stared as the shirt conformed to Wade’s body, the contours of his chest coming out in full relief. Turning away from the titillating sight, she grabbed a couple hand towels hanging next to the sink. She just didn’t want him to do the dishes. Now he would think she was the worst boss in the state.
Turning back to help him dry off, she froze. Wade had taken off his shirt, revealing his moist chest and arms. The man’s pectorals were what she called mountain muscles and the wet hair that formed a line straight down the middle of his rippled abdominals disappeared beneath blue jeans being held up by a big-buckled belt. She tried to look at his face but was drawn to his large biceps, which had been hidden by the shirt. She followed those to his shoulders where more muscle explained why he appeared so broad. He was. The man was walking muscle.
“Are those for me?”
His voice snapped her out of her drool-like state, and she looked him in the eye. The man’s lips formed a slow smirk.
“Yes. Here.” She gave him the towels and he pushed one back at her.
“Can you dry my back? That water sprayer is strong.”
“Right, of course.” She was bumbling like an idiot, but what woman wouldn’t be. Damn, the man was built. He made her feel petite despite being taller than average. He had to be well over six feet. Stepping behind him, she was treated to another tantalizing view. As he wiped at his chest and arms, the muscles in his back danced, showing the many layers he had. She hesitated to touch him. He would be warm and so male.
“Isn’t it wet?” He rolled his shoulders. “It feels like it.”
“Yes. Yes, it is.” She forced herself to use the towel against his skin, careful not to let her hand touch him. If it did, she wouldn’t be able to stop. She wiped at the moisture until he was dry, then took a deep breath and stepped around him, tossing the towel on the sink. “I’m sorry. I was just trying to keep you from washing the dishes.”
“No harm. I’ve been wet before.” His smile appeared again, and she had the strongest urge to kiss it.
Switching her weight to her right hip, she crossed her arms. “Well, I guess now you have to let me do the dishes.” She meant to sound flippant, but didn’t carry it off well.
He held out his towel. “Yup. Definitely got your way…this time.”
She uncrossed her arms to take the towel and crushed it against her chest. “Have a good night.”
He shrugged his large shoulders, causing her insides to tighten. Why did she have to be so susceptible to broad shoulders, and why did he have to have the most muscular ones she’d ever seen?
“It all depends on the bed.” He winked and brushed past her. Their arms touched for a second, his clean male scent, which was stronger now without his shirt, washed over her and almost buckled her knees.
She couldn’t resist and turned to watch him walk away, his back teasing her with its muscle play until the batwing doors swung closed behind him.
She pulled the damp towel up to her face and inhaled. God, the man smelled good. Damn. Built, well mannered, organized, knowledgeable and with a dark tan above his waist that made her want to crawl down his pants to see how far it went.
She groaned. Tan to the waist meant he was outside without a shirt more often than not. “Hell.” She was definitely screwed…or rather wanted to be. Could she ask Dale for another replacement stable manager?

Lazarus Graham has always been the black sheep of his family. Leaving behind the ranch his family had owned for nearly 200 years, he lives life as a Texas Ranger. Tough, hard and inflexible, he has no time for life's fripperies.
Beatrice Cartwright never expected to run into her childhood nemesis again. Yet Laz Graham sauntered into her store to investigate a crime nearby. Then the man had the nerve to not remember her.
Being a Graham isn't easy, and it's about to get a lot harder for one stubborn lawman and the woman who still owns his heart.

READ AN EXCERPT

He cupped her cheek and a shiver raced down her skin. “You gave up your dreams to live theirs?”
She’d not heard it phrased in such a way before and it made her decision sound foolish. “No, I took responsibility for my family’s business. I couldn’t let my grandfather’s vision for a Cartwright legacy die with my parents.” Her tone was sharper than she expected.
“You’re right. I can’t judge you for what you did.” He pulled his hand away and she almost stopped him. “But for what it’s worth, you would have been a good cop.”
She turned away from him and stared blindly at the colorful sticky notes. The colors of the rainbow decorated the wall, a collection of awfulness in the guise of something beautiful.
“Thank you, I think.” She wrapped her arms around her middle. “I guess we have obligations to our families that we might not want.”
He nodded. “True enough.” He put his hand on her shoulder. “I think we have something to start with. Finally.”
The warmth of his large hand was strangely comforting in the harsh light of the almost barren room. There was almost nothing left of the store. It was a clean slate. She could either rebuild what was taken from her, or she could sell it all and start again.
First, however, she wanted to find out who was behind the crimes and help Laz catch the son of a bitch.
“I want to be part of this until the end.” She turned to look up into his beautiful blue-green eyes. “Tell me you won’t leave me here and finish this without me.”
His expression was just as hard as it had been when they started, but he dipped his head and kissed her. Soft and quick. Her heart thudded into a gallop. Suddenly all she could see, all she could smell, all she could feel was him. The fans buzzed back and forth, but instead of cooling her down, her temperature notched up.
“It’s hot in here.” Her voice was a crackly whisper.
“The AC is off.”
“It’s not the AC.” She told herself to step back, to move away from him. Yet her body didn’t obey. Nope, she did something really stupid instead.
She set the beer down and kissed him. His lips moved against hers, giving as much as receiving. She opened her mouth. The sweet heat slid through her as their tongues rasped and danced with each other. Her arms found their way around his neck and she pressed her breasts against his exceptionally hard chest.
What was she doing?
“Is this a good idea?” He murmured against her cheek as he kissed his way to her neck.
Bea took off her glasses and dropped them on the floor beside her. “No, it’s not.”
That didn’t stop her from backing him toward the chair and pushing his shoulders until he sat. Her nipples strained against her bra and her pussy throbbed with need, pulsing in tune with her rapid heartbeat. One kiss, that was all it took. Apparently touching Lazarus was like a switch.
She was on.
She climbed on his lab, pressing her heated core against him and was rewarded with a thump from his burgeoning erection. She slid back and forth, reveling in the friction. He cupped her breasts, hefting their weight while his thumbs brushed her straining nipples.
“God, these are amazing.” He tugged at the hem of her shirt until he could pull it off.
It was almost laundry day so the only bra she’d had to wear was a pink lacy, sexy one that she had bought at the urging of a friend. Bea only wore it when she had no other clean ones. Her big boobs were just about falling out of the scrap of lace that pretended to be a bra.
Laz, however, appeared to appreciate it. He growled low in his throat and pinched her nipples through the lace. The combination of the rough material against the sensitive skin made her gasp.
“These are magnificent.”
She couldn’t help it. She barked a short laugh. “Magnificent?”
He frowned up at her. “Don’t underestimate the lure of these.” He nipped at one, and she sucked in a breath. When he pulled back the lace off the left side, exposing the nipple, he licked it once. “Magnificent.”

Consent and Sexuality

Available at all eRetailers
"Not that I am a woman who would have a relationship with more than one man, I do love the fact that Faith was able to follow her heart and live her life as she saw fit. It is time that women stand up for their beliefs and their sexuality. Ms. Alexander helps me believe in embracing my sexuality and hopefully womankind too. Praises for her story and the message she sends out."

-Amazon review. To Have Faith.

There is a part of me in all of the heroines I write. In To Have Faith, Faith O’Leary is the part of me who wanted to embrace and explore her sexuality. When I read that my words inspired others to connect with their trues nature, it brought tears to my eyes.

It is an interesting time to be a woman in America. And by interesting, I mean fucked up. We are told we can do and be whatever we want, as long as it fits someone else’s idea of womanhood. Nowhere is this stupid attitude more prevalent than when it comes to consent.

Consent. That’s right. I’m going there. Why? Because I’ve recently taken the bull by the horn shall we say and have changed my expectation of the type of physical relationship I want. It wasn’t a drastic decision, but one I’ve been contemplating for a while and finally decided to do something about. As I endeavor on this transition, I’ve learned some fundamental truths regarding consent.

Truth- I am a sexual human being. I enjoy men. I enjoy being a woman surrounded by men. I love our differences and I love our similarities. I love being a girly-girl, and wearing high heels, and hearing my man call me princess in his growly voice. LOVE IT! When I go out, I will dress sexy and wear low-cut tops to attract attention.

But Anna. Only sluts go out dressed to attract male attention in such a fashion.

Uh, no. All animals have their mating rituals. I just go about it in the way of the peacock, showing off my magnificent plumage. We are first attracted visually. We see someone who catches our eye and think, “Wow. I would like to know more about this person.” And then courtship commences.

Where mankind fucks up this process is when it comes to consent. Yes, I may be dressed to attract a man but that does not mean I am out to attract ALL MEN. Or even “you” specifically.

People are like puzzle pieces. You see a person you think may be a good match. You go up and say hello. Let’s say that after a few moments, you or the other person suggests that maybe you aren’t meant to be. If this were an actual puzzle, do you mash the pieces together? Scream and yell and force the pieces to fit? No. You shrug, put the pieces back on the table and try something else.

That is what we need to do with each other. You are welcome to talk to me. I am welcome to say no thank you. You move on. You are not allowed to mash us together. Ever. Ever, ever. Just because I flirt and kiss on one man does not mean I have to flirt and kiss on you. And that goes both ways. Just because a man is a man, does not mean they are ready or willing to hook up with anyone. No means no. Is this concept really so difficult to understand?

Be kind. Be respectful. And get on with your sexy self. You are allowed to want. You are allowed to desire. And you sure as hell allowed to lust. You are not a slut. You are not a whore. And you owe no one. Do not let someone tell you who you can or cannot be.

Peace!
