Interview with Guest Diva Robyn Bachar

What is the Heat level of your books from 1 to YOWZA?

The Cy’ren Rising books might be YOWZA, because they’re in Samhain’s Red Hots!!! category. (Three exclamation points serious, people.)  They’re ménages, and the first two have m/f/f/ romances and the final book in the trilogy is m/m/f. Pretty spicy. ;)

Why did you start writing?

Because the voices in my head won’t let me sleep if I don’t let them out to frolic on the page. I’ve always been a writer—I started my first novel in 8th grade. I don’t understand how people don’t write. There’s always at least one story brewing in my brain.

Biggest (non-writing) influence in your life?

My parents are both former gym teachers. (If you’ve ever wondered what happens when gym teachers breed, you either get a star athlete like my brother or a total book nerd like me.) They instilled a “you can do it!” drive in me, which has motivated me to attempt scary things like submitting to agents and publishers. Because yeah, you might get rejected, but you can’t win the game if you don’t play.

What has been your biggest writing influence - book or another author?

Nora Roberts. I want to be Nora Roberts when I grow up. ;) Though really I’m inspired by the other writers I’ve met, like the lovely Chandra Ryan who invited me to blog here today. Every writer has a story about what inspires them, and I find them all fascinating.

What are you writing right now? Is it part of a series?

I’m working on a super-secret project with my best friend Diana, which is a stand-alone novel. For NaNoWriMo I’m going to start the first book in a new sci-fi romance trilogy.

Do you write full time?

I do, though I’m looking for a day job. I love writing, but it’s good to get out of the house too. Plus the puppy has a bed behind my desk, and every time I start to write she bites my ankles.

A writing goal you haven’t shared with anyone?

I want to write a book that becomes a summer blockbuster movie. The kind with a dashing, swoon-worthy hero and a kickbutt heroine and lots of explosions.

Any hobbies non-writing related (stalking male cover models on Facebook doesn’t count)?

Gaming. I don’t do online gaming like I used to, but I enjoy Dragon Age and Mass Effect on my Xbox. I’m soooo looking forward to the release of Dragon Age: Inquisition.

JUST A DECADENT TASTE….
·
Last book you read?  Fortune’s Pawn by Rachel Bach. It is SO GOOD. It has all of my catnip, and     I already picked up the second and third book.
·
      Cake or pie?  Cake, please.
·
Stand alone or series?  Yes. Both.
·
Novella or novel?  Ooh, tough one. Sometimes you need a quick read and a novella is perfect.
·
Real or pen name?  Like Tiffany Reisz, I write under my real name.
·
Vanilla or ANY another flavor?  Chocolate peanut-butter.
·
Tattoo or piercing?  I have 4 tattoos, so I’m going to have to go with tattoo.
